You can put this solution on YOUR website!
There are a total of 36 possible combinations.
Of these, the following combinations total to 6: 1,5 2,4 3,3 4,2 5,1 (5 combinations)
Thus, the probability is 5/36

Suppose you toss two die. What is the probability that the total number of dots appearing is 6?
-------------------
The possible totals are 2 thru 12 = 11
A 6 can be 1 & 5, 2 & 4, or 3 & 3, 4 & 2, 5 & 1
---> 5/11

The response by Alan is a joke.

    His other popular joke is that the probability of any event is 1%2F2: the event EITHER happens OR not.
