You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the number of pencils be x.
The number of erasers is 36.
The ratio of the number of his pencils to the number of erasers is 2:6.
Applying ratio and proportion,
2/6=x/36
x=36*2/6=72/6=12
The number of pencils is 12.
