If 12% owned nothing, then 88% owned something. 68% + 72% is 130%. 130% - 88% is 42% which is the percentage that was counted twice when you added 68 and 72 and therefore represents the percentage that owned both. So 42% goes in the intersection of the the TV and Radio circles, 68% - 42% goes in the TV only part of the TV circle, 72% - 42% goes in the Radio only part of the Radio circle, and 12% goes in the Universal set area outside of both circles.
