.

Andy had 2x biscuits initially; Batty had 5x.

After Andy bought 24 more biscuits, we gave this equation

    %282x%2B24%29%2F5x = 16%2F10.

It implies

    10*(2x+24) = 16*(5x)

    20x + 240 = 80x

    240       = 80x - 20x

    240       = 60x

      x       = 240%2F60 = 4.

So, Andy had initially 2*4 = 8 biscuits;  Betty had 5*4 = 20 biscuits.

When Andy bought 24 biscuits, the number of biscuits in his possession became 8+24 = 32.

So, Betty should buy %2832-20%29%2F6 = 12%2F6 = 2 packs of biscuits. ANSWEWR
