Question 1162049: mary sells fruit with four of her friends. if the earnings are divided evenly, how much must the business make in order for each person to earn $30? Found 2 solutions by solver91311, ikleyn:Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
The business should make 30*(1+4) = 30*5 = 150 dollars total earnings.
Assuming that all the business' earning is spend to compensate sellers . . . // (which is usually not the case . . . .
But we can assume it for the sake getting the solution to the problem).
Notice the difference between my statement and the John' statement:
I multiply $30 by 5 (five), while John assumes to multiply by 4.
