I am just starting Trigonometry class and I don't have a textbook just yet since it just started yesterday. Based on some problems that I have seen online I have learned that the sum of the measures of the angles of any triangle is 180 degrees.

Since the condition given is x+(x+50)+(180-3x) = 180
x+(x+50)+(180-3x) = 180
Remove parentheses
x+x+50+180-3x = 180
Collect the like terms
-x+50+180 = 180
Add the numbers
-x+230 = 180
Move constant to the right side of the equation and change its sign
-x = 180-230
Calculate the difference
-x = -50
Multiply both sides of the equation by -1
-x*(-1) = -50*(-1)
Any expression multiplied by -1 equals its opposite
x = -50*(-1)
Any expression multiplied by -1 equals its opposite
