Equation for the description:
2L-5=3%28L-5%29

Solve:
2L-5=3L-15
-5%2B15=3L-2L
10=L

Let Lehlen  be x years old now;

then Maria is 2x years now.


Five years ago :  Maria was  2x-5 years old;

                  Lenlen was x-5 years old.


Equation :

    2x-5 = 3*(x-5)


Simplify and solve

    2x-5 = 3x - 15

    15-5 = 3x - 2x

    10   = x


ANSWER.  Lehlen is 10 years old now.  Maria is 20 years old now.


CHECK.  5 years ago  M was 15 years old;  L was 5 years old.   ! Correct !
