 who is unfamiliar with standard mathematical terminology.
 
 
 Why ? - - - Because there is  NO  any equation in this post.
 
 
 What you call  " an equation ",  is  NOT  an equation.
 
 It is the definition of function  f(x).
 
 Therefore,  the post needs to be re-formulated.
