You mistakenly refer to 115 inches as the area.


Area is measured in SQUARE inches, so your post shoud refer to the area of the basket as  115 SQUARE inches.


If so, then the solution to the problem is in one line


    "how long" = %28115%2A18%29%2F8 = 2583%2F4 seconds.



I calculated the volume (the numerator), and then divided it by the inflow rate.
