length is the sqrt(diff in x^2+diff in y^2)
AC is sqrt(9+36)=sqrt(45)
BC is sqrt (9+36)=sqrt(45)

A simpler method, tho you might be required to use the other tutor's method.

The midpoint is the average of x & y found separately.
---
For x: (-2-8)/2 = -5
For y: (5-7)/2 = -1
----> MP is (-5,-1)
