.

Let x be the TOTAL distance.

Then from the condition you have this equation

    x%2F3 - x%2F4 = 24.

Multiply both sides by 12

    4x - 3x = 24*12  kilometres

    x       = 288    kilometres

The entire distance is 288 kilometres.

Pius just traveled one quarter of it, i.e. 288/4 = 72 kilometers.

Hence, he still has to travel 288 - 72 = 216 kilometres to reach his destination. ANSWER

Solved.

He has gone 0.25 of the distance, but has 24 km more before going 1/3 the distance. So 24 = (0.33333 - .25)X, 24 = .08333X, X = 288 miles for the journey.
So he has to travel 2/3 of the way for the entire journey, 2/3X = 192 km left to go.

Definitely will NOT do all of that!

Let journey be J km
We then get the following equation:
3J + 288 = 4J ----- Multiplying by LCD, 12
Journey, or J = 288 km
With the entire journey being 288 km, and he's already covered 1%2F4, or 72 km, he has another
