The setup for the traditional algebraic solution....

5 ml of 2%, plux x ml of 6%, equals (5+x) ml of 5%:
.02%285%29%2B.06%28x%29+=+.05%285%2Bx%29
0.1%2B.06x+=+.25%2B.05x
.01x+=+.15
x+=+.15%2F.01+=+15

ANSWER: 15 ml of the 6% sandalwood.

A much faster and easier solution method -- if a formal algebraic solution is not required....

5% is 3/4 of the way from 2% to 6%; therefore 3/4 of the mixture must be the 6% sandalwood. So the 5 ml of 2% is 1/4 of the mixture; that means the amount of 6% sandalwood is 15 ml.
