the y-intercept is the value of y when x = 0.
the x-intercept is the value of x when y = 0.
if you set x equal to 0, you'll find the y-intercept.
if you set y equal to 0, you'll find the x-intercept.
your equation is 3x + 5y = 12
set x equal to 0 and you get 5y = 12.
the y-intercept is equal to 12/5 = 2.4
set y equal to 0 and you get 3x = 12.
the x intercept is equal to 12/3 = 4
