Question 1156174:
The mean of n numbers is 5.If the number 13 is now included with the n numbers the new mean is 6.Find the value of n. Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! the total of n umbers is 5n
add 13 to that total and get 5n+13
divide that by n=1 and get 6
so (5n+13)/(n+1)=6
so 5n+13=6n+6
n=7 numbers ANSWER
7 * mean of 5=35 total
add 13 to that and get 48
divide by n+1 of 8 and get 6.
