First expression is not exponential.


It is rational, instead.


And it can not be simplified further.

Use parentheses and exponents correctly in displaying the expressions to be simplified. I doubt that you have shown either expression correctly.

(1) "x-2/y-4" means x-2%2Fy-4

(2) "(1 x 102)(2 x 103)/(1 x 10^2)" means %281+%2A+102%29%282+%2A+103%29%2F%281+%2A+10%5E2%29
