You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
Area of trapezoid= %281%2F2%29%2A+%28sum+of+parallel+sides%29%2Aheight%29
88= (1/2) * (x+(x+5)) * 8
simplify
22= 2x+5
2x= 17
x=8.5 one side cm
other side 13.5 cm

The height of a trapezoid is 8 centimeters and one base is 5 centimeters longer than the other base. If the
area of the trapezoid is 68 square centimeters, how long is each base?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Area of trapezoid = %281%2F2%29 * (sum of parallel sides) * height.
68= (1/2) * (x+(x+5)) * 8
simplify
8.5*2 = 2x+5
2x= 17 - 5 = 12
x = 12/2 = 6 cm      the smaller base
x + 5 = 6 + 5 = 11   the longer base.
Solved.
@Mananth,  as I see, you need  TWO  helpers:
    - one to read the problem for you,
    - and the other to check after you.
