P=2%28L%2BW%29
given A=P
and L=6+
A=6%2AW
P=2%286%2BW%29
=>6%2AW=2%286%2BW%29
6%2AW=12%2B2W
6%2AW-2W=12
4W=12
W=3 ->the rectangle is 3 inches wide


check the area and perimeter:
A=6%2AW->A=6%2A3->A=18 in squared
P=2%286%2BW%29->P=2%286%2B3%29->P=18 inches

2*6 + 2x  = 6x


6x - 2x = 12.
