The first thing we are going to do is add a p to each side. This gives us 3n+-+p+%2B+p+=+6m+%2B+p, which simplifies to 3n+=+6m+%2B+p.
We now need to divide each side through by three: %283n%29%2F3+=+%286m+%2B+p%29%2F3 which simplifies to n+=+%286m%2Bp%29%2F3, or n+=+2m+%2B+%28p%2F3%29.
We have now solved the formula for n.
