You can put this solution on YOUR website!
There are many ways to express the answer.
You could go with a fraction and that would be 1/8 of a pound.
Or you could write the answer in decimal form to say 0.125 pounds.
If you wish to convert to ounces, then the answer would be 2 ounces.
All of these answers represent the same thing.
--------------------------------
Heres how to get the answer:
3 pounds = 24 square feet
3/24 pounds = 24/24 square feet ... divide both sides by 24
1/8 pounds = 1 square foot ... note how we have 1 square foot
0.125 pounds = 1 square foot
2 ounces = 1 square foot
How did I go from 1/8 of a pound to 2 ounces? I used the fact that 16 ounces = 1 pound, so,
16 ounces = 1 pound
16/8 ounces = 1/8 pound ... divide both sides by 8
2 ounces = 1/8 pound
2 ounces = 0.125 pound
