(8x+3)(3x-2) = +24x%5E2+-+16x+%2B+9x+-+6+=+highlight%2824x%5E2-7x-6%29+





Recall (c+d)*a = ac+ad by the distributive property of multiplication.

Now if a=e+f you get  



(c+d)(e+f) = (c+d)*a = ca + da = c(e+f) + d(e+f) = ce + cf + de + df  (some use the mnemonic FOIL to remember this: First, Outer, Inner, and Last.)
