if Melissa is 5 years younger than Ann, we have
x=y-5 ......eq.1

if in 6 years, the sum of their ages will be 35,
%28x%2B6%29%2B%28y%2B6%29=35
x%2B6%2By%2B6=35
x%2By%2B12=35
x%2By=35-12
x%2By=23
x=23-y.......eq.2
from eq.1 and eq.2 we have,
23-y=y-5
23%2B5=y%2By
28=2y
y=14
