A + B = 180
if angle A is 3 times as large as angle B, then:
A = 3B
equation becomes:
3B + B = 180
combine like terms to get:
4B = 180
solve for B to get:
B = 180 / 4 = 45
angle A is 3 time angle B, therefore angle A is 135 degrees.
135 + 45 = 180 therefore the angles are supplementary.
solution is angle A is 135 degrees and angle B is 45 degrees.
