Question 1152469: 1) A bag contain 8 red balls and 5 white balls, 2 successive drawing of 3 balls are made such that
1) balls are replaced before the second trial
2) balls are not replaced before the second trial

To me at least, the wording of the problem is not clear. It talks about "drawings" and "trials", and I can't figure out whether those are two names for the same thing.

The way I read the problem, 3 balls are drawn ("1st drawing") and then 3 more balls are drawn ("2nd drawing"). And if that is the case, then of course the first drawing can't give 3 white balls and 3 red balls, because the first drawing only draws three balls....

So the probability that the 1st drawing will give 3 white balls and 3 red balls is 0.
