th function is y = 8x + 25
x is the number of hours worked during the day.
8 is the cost per hour.
25 is the cost of the insurance per day.

the y intercept is the value of y when the value of x is equal to 0.
that represents the daily cost of the insurance which is 25 dollars a day.
y represents the total cost for the day which is the number of hours he person works per day times 8 dollars plus 25 dollars for insurance.

If x is for hours the worker works in one day, then y intercept of 25 may be the insurance cost for the worker for one day.
