You can put this solution on YOUR website! A line with a slope of -3/4 that passes through (12,-4)."
:
one way is to use the point slope form y - y1 = m(x- x1)
In this problem x1=12, y1=-4, m=-3/4
hence
y - (-4) = (x - 12)
y1 becomes a +4; distribute the -3/4; becomes a +9
y + 4 = x + 9
y = x + 9 - 4
y = x + 5 is the equation for this line
