James will spend  5%2F10 = 1%2F2 of an hour = 30 minutes to finish.


Ben will spend  5%2F12  of an hour to finish.


    5%2F12 of an hour is  5*5 minutes = 25 minutes.


But since Ben have started five minutes after James, they both will finish SIMULTANEOUSLY.


I do not know who wins, since the formal rules of the competition are not presented in the post.


What I know is that they both will finish SIMULTANEOUSLY.
