Question 1150240: Hi
James and ben are in a race over a distance of 5 km. James starts and averages 10km per hour. Five minutes later ben starts averages 12km per hour. Who wins.
Thanks Answer by ikleyn(52864) (Show Source):
James will spend = of an hour = 30 minutes to finish.
Ben will spend of an hour to finish.
of an hour is 5*5 minutes = 25 minutes.
But since Ben have started five minutes after James, they both will finish SIMULTANEOUSLY.
I do not know who wins, since the formal rules of the competition are not presented in the post.
What I know is that they both will finish SIMULTANEOUSLY.
