Question 1148762: Find a fraction such that if 3 is added to both numerator and denominator is equal to 2/3. But if 7 is added to both its numerator and denominator, the fraction is equal to 3/4. (use x and y variables and show full solutions please, thanksss!)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Let x = numerator
let y = denominator

(1) 3 added to both numerator and denominator makes the fraction 2/3:

%28x%2B3%29%2F%28y%2B3%29+=+2%2F3

(2) 7 added to both numerator and denominator makes the fraction 3/4:

%28x%2B7%29%2F%28y%2B7%29+=+3%2F4

That's two equations in x and y; solve them using basic algebra.
