First we know that the shop still has one pie left.
pie = 1
We know that Dexter bought half a pie, so add a half
pie = 1.5
Now times two since he bought half of the pies
pie = 3
Then Phyllis bought half of a pie, so add a half
pie = 3.5
and times 2 again
pie = 7
add another half
pie = 7.5
times two
pie = 15
