At a local pizza shop, the price for a medium cheese pizza is $6.50, and the price for a large pizza is $14.00. The diameters of the large and medium pizzas are 18 inches and 12 inches respectively. Both pizzas are the same thickness. Using your knowledge of geometry and number sense,
a) Calculate the cost of each pizza per square inch.
Large radius = 9", Med radius = 6"; find the area of each
L = 14%2F%28pi%2A9%5E2%29 = 5.5 cents per sq inch;
M = 6.5%2F%28pi%2A6%5E2%29 = 5.7 cents per sq inch
b) Determine which size is a better buy.
Large is slightly better deal, obviously
