Then the journeyman makes 2x dollars, and the master makes 2.5*(2x) = 5x dollars.


An equation for the total is


    x + 2x + 5x = 5600   dollars.


Simplify and solve for x


    8x = 5600

     x = 5600%2F8 = 700 dollars.


ANSWER.  700, 1400 and 3500 dollars for the apprentice, the journeyman and the master, respectively.
