You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.

If x is Ian age, them his mother age is 4x.

In 5 years, Ian will be x+5 years old; his mother will be 4x+5 years old.

The condition says

    3(x+5) = 4x + 5,

giving x = 10.

ANSWER. Ian's mother is 5*10 = 40 years old.

Solved.
