Question 1146770: Alex took clothes to the cleaners three times last month. First, he brought 2 shirts and 2 pairs of slacks and paid $11.96. Then he brought 6 shirts, 3 pairs of slacks, and 2 sports coats and paid $35.39. Finally, he brought 5 shirts and 2 sports coats and paid $20.43. How much was he charged for each shirt, each pair of slacks, and each sports coat?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! .
Let x = for each shirt;
y = for each pair of slacks, and
z = for each sport coat.
Then from the condition you have this set of 3 equations in 3 unknowns
2x + 2y + 0z = 11.96 (1)
6x + 3y + 2z = 35.39 (2)
5x + 0y + 2z = 20.43. (3)
It can be solved using Substitution, or Elimination, or determinants (the Cramer's rule).
