: x+ the squareroot of 5 divided by x minus (-) the square root of five is the problem. i multiplied the top and bottom by the conjugate of the denominator. and then i got x plus x squareroot of 5 plus x squaroot of 5 plus the squareroot of 25 and on the bottom i got x plus x square root of 5 minus x square root of five minus square root of 25. i am not sure if i combined my terms right with the radicals.
same thing with problem # 31- (same type of problem) This question is from textbook Algebra 2
You can put this solution on YOUR website! x+ the squareroot of 5 divided by x minus (-) the square root of five
---------------
(x+sqrt(5)) / (x-sqrt(5))
-------------------
= [(x+sqrt5)(x+sqrt5)]/[x-sqrt5)(x+sqrt5)]
= [x^2 + 2sqrt(5)x + 5] / [x^2-5]
