The statement of the problem is faulty; I don't care to try to guess what the real problem is.

(1) If LP=4.5 and MQ=7.5 and we are supposed to determine NR, then LP, MQ, and NR are line SEGMENTS, not lines.

(2) It looks as if the "LN:LM = 1:2" is supposed to define the relative distances between the two line segments; but it does not. It only defines the relative distances between point L and line LP and points M on MQ and N on NR.

Make the definition of the problem clear and re-post....
