You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3/6 is Ker's part in 3 hours
We see immediately that is 1/2
so Kan must be working at the same rate. which is 6 hrs for the whole job
3/6+3/x=1
3/x=3/6
x=6

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Ker's rate, 1%2F6
Kan's rate, 1%2Fx
Ker AND Kan, 1%2F3

1%2F6%2B1%2Fx=1%2F3
-
6x%281%2F6%2B1%2Fx%29=6x%281%2F3%29
x%2B6=2x
x=6----------------Kan can also do the one job alone in 6 hours.

.

Ker and Kan, working together, make 1%2F3 of the job per hour.

Ker alone makes 1%2F6 of the job per hour.

Hence, Kan alone makes 1%2F3 - 1%2F6 = 2%2F6 - 1%2F6%7D%7D+=+%7B%7B%7B1%2F6 of the job per hour.

Hence, Kan will complete the job in 6 hours, working alone. ANSWER
