Question 1145068: Having trouble with this problem:
1/3(4x-5)+6=3/4(3x+2)-1
4/3x-5/3+6=9/4x+6/4-1
12(4/3x-5/3+6)=12(9/4x+6/4-1)
16x-20+72=27x+18-12
16x+52=27x+6
-16x -16x
52=11x+6
-6 -6
46/11=x
Is this correct?
46/11=x

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/3(4x-5)+6=3/4(3x+2)-1
4/3x-5/3+6=9/4x+6/4-1
12(4/3x-5/3+6)=12(9/4x+6/4-1) to clear fractions multiply by 12
BTW this should have been your first step
16x-20+72=27x+18-12 ok
16x+52=27x+6 ok
-16x -16x
52=11x+6 ok
-6 -6
46/11=x ok
Is this correct?
46/11=x
Why are you unsure?
