Question 1145040: A survey of 200 grade 12 students produced the following data: 101 had a smartphone, 73 had a Ipad, 98 had a laptop, 41 had both a smart phone and an Ipad, 33 had both a Ipad and a laptop, 21 had both a smart phone and a laptop, 12 had all three items.
a) Construct a Venn diagram to determine how many people in the survey had none of the items.
b) What is the probability that a student had:
I) exactly two of the items.
II) Only a laptop
III)A smartphone but not a Ipad
IV) a laptop or an Ipad Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
41 had iPad + SmartPhone
33 had iPad + Laptop
12 had all three
So, at an absolute minimum, 86 students had iPad. But your problem statement said 73 students have an iPad. Impossible for the number of students who only have an iPad to be minus 13.
