Question 1143497: Hi! I have been having a lot of trouble with this one problem:
For g(x) = 3x - 5 and g(a) = 16, find a.
I usually am not very good with functions, and someone clarifying this question for me would be much appreciated. Cheers!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

g(a) = 16 just means to evaluate g(x) when x=a, so they are saying
g(a) = 3a - 5 = 16
Solve 3a-5=16 for a to get a=7.
Hope this helps you.
