Question 114334: Please help me with this can you explain this to me.
solve the system of equation using the substitution method. If the answer is a unique solution, present it as an ordered pair: ( x,y). If not specify whether the answer is no solution or infinitely many solutions.
3x + y = 2
2x - y = 3

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
solving the first equation for y gives y=2-3x

substituting for y in the second equation gives 2x-(2-3x)=3

5x-2=3 ___ 5x=5 ___ x=1

3(1)+y=2 ___ 3+y=2 ___ y=-1

unique solution
