Question 1142509: If X is distributed UNIFORMLY between a and b, then
P(a<= X <= b) =
1
0
.5
b-a
Answer by ikleyn(52814) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! .
Under given condition,
P(a<= X <= b) = 1,
assuming that a < b.
Moreover, this word of the condition " . . . UNIFORMLY . . . " is EXCESSIVE:
The answer is THE SAME even if X distributed non-uniformly between "a" and "b".
All other optional answers are FALSE.
If, of course, b - a =/= 1.
If (b - a) = 1, then the fourth optional answer is correct, too.
