The parallelogram has vertices at A = (4,2), B = (10,2), C = (8,9) and D = (14,9). 


The sides  AB  and  CD are horizontal and have the length of 7 = 9-2 units.


Vertical dimension (the height) of the parallelogram has the measure of 7 units.


Hence, the area of the parallelogram is the product  6*7 = 42 square units.     ANSWER
