Question 1141360: A total of 9 eggs were transported to the market. Each of the c crates that were used to transport the eggs could hold a maximum of m eggs. If one crate had 5 empty slots and the remaining crates were all filled. Which of the following expresses the relationship among g,c and m.
A) cm-5=g
B)cm+5=g
C) Cg =m+5
D) cg =m-5

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
did you mean g eggs?

i don't see how the 9 fits into the equatins.

there were c crates and the maximum number of eggs each could carry was m eggs.

at full capacity, the number of eggs that could be transported would therefore be c * m.

if all the crates were filled to capacity except for 1 crate and that crate had 5 empty slots, then the total capacity carried by the crates would be cm - 5.

if g was the number of eggs that were transported, then the equation would be g = cm - 5.

if you didn't mean g rather than 9, then i don't see what the solution should be since there was no mention of g anywhere in the presentation of the problem.

i think selection A should be your answer, but am confused by no mention of g.
