Question 1141281: You pruchase 3 squash racquets, 7 pairs of socks and 4 head-bands from Sportsman's Warehouse. You hand the cashier R2500 and receive R250 in change. A squash racquet costs R510 more than a pair of socks, which in turn is half the price of a head-band. Calculate the price of a squash racquet, a pair of socks and a head-band.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Cost of one squash racquet = x + 510
Cost of one pair of socks = x
Cost of one head-band = 2x

3(x + 510) + 7x + 4(2x) = 2250

3x + 1530 + 7x + 8x = 2250

18x + 1530 = 2250

18x = 720

x = 40

Cost of one squash racquet = x + 510 = 40 + 510 = 550
Cost of one pair of socks = x = 40
Cost of one head-band = 2x = 2(40) = 80
