You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Formula l%2Aw=a
If we assign w to the width, then we know that the lenght (l) is equal to 2*w. So we could write the equation out as such 2w%2Aw=24m%5E2
First simplify 2w%2Aw=2w%5E2 to 2w%5E2=24 Leave off the m^2 for sake of ease.
Now we must divide both sides by 2 2w%5E2%2F2=24%2F2
Result
w%5E2=12
Now to further simplify we need to take the square root of each side
Result sqrt%28w%5E2%29=sqrt%2812%29
w=3.464
If we plug this value back in to the formula 2w%2Aw=24m%5E2 we will get %282%2A3.464%29%2A3.464=24
6.928%2A3.464=24m%5E2
24=24 This is approximate as the decimals are quite long.
