You can put this solution on YOUR website!
based on these numbers, i don't believe you'll be able to get an overall grade of 90%.

the test is worth 50% of your grade.

that means that 79.37% is worth the other 50% of your grade.

let x equal the grade you need on your first 50%.

your total grade will then be .5 * x + .5 * 79.37%.

since you want your total grade to be equal to 90%, then the equation becomes:

90% = .5 * x + .5 * 79.37%.

subtract .5 * 79.37% from both sides of the equation to get:

90% - .5 * 79.37% = .5 * x

solve for x to get x = (90% - .5 * 79.37%) / .5 = 100.63%.

unless you can get more than 100% on a test, you won't be able to get 90% overall grade because 100.63% is greater than 100%.

if you can't get more than 100% on a test, then the best you can do is .5 * 100% + .5 * 79.37% = 89.685%.
