ln%28x%2B12%29-ln%28x%2B2%29=ln%283%29

By basic rules of logarithms on the left hand side,

ln%28%28x%2B12%29%2F%28x%2B2%29%29=ln%283%29

Then since the logarithms of the two expressions are equal, the expressions are equal.

%28x%2B12%29%2F%28x%2B2%29+=+3

This becomes a linear equation which you should be able to solve easily.
