You can put this solution on YOUR website!
i believe the formula you need is in the following reference.

http://jwilson.coe.uga.edu/emt725/Frustum/Frustum.cone.html

the subsections pertinent to understanding the formula used are in the section on HINT and the section on SETTING UP THE FORMULAS.

HINT is at the following web address (also linked to by the main reference).

http://jwilson.coe.uga.edu/emt725/Frustum/Hint.Frustum.html

SETTING UP THE FORMULAS is at the following web address (also linked to by the HINT reference).

http://jwilson.coe.uga.edu/emt725/Frustum/Formulas.html

the formula is:

v = pi * h / 3 * (R^2 + R * r + r^2)

h is the height of your pail.
R is the larger radius = 24 / 2 = 12.
r is the smaller radius = 18 / 2 = 9.

based on this formula, the volume of the pail would be pi * 25 / 3 * (12^2 + 12 * 9 + 9^2) = pi * 2775 cubic centimeters.

that would be approximately 8717.919614 cubic centimeters.

check the reference and verify for yourself that this is accurate.
