What fraction is one-fourth of the way from 5/8 to 3/2?
1%2F4(3%2F2-5%2F8)
1%2F4(12%2F8-5%2F8)
1%2F4(7%2F8) = 7%2F32
then
5%2F8%2B7%2F32 =
20%2F32%2B7%2F32 = 27%2F32 is 1/4 of the way from 5/8 to 3/2

5/8 to 3/2 is the same as
5/8 to 12/8
The difference is
12/8 - 5/8 = 7/8

1/4 of this is
(1/4)*(7/8) = 7/32
Add this to 5/8, which is 20/32
20/32 + 7/32 = 27/32
