The larger number is +44+-+x+
+x%2F%28+44-x+%29+=+3%2F8+
+8x+=+3%2A%28+44+-+x+%29+
+8x+=+132+-+3x+
+11x+=+132+
+x+=+12+
and +44+-+x+=+32+

The numbers are 12 and 32
The difference is +32+-+12+=+20+
