You can put this solution on YOUR website! Do the second and the third first
2.4 x 10^-5 or 2.4 E -5 (e for exponent)/1.2 E-3, put a decimal between the 1 and 2 and count back 3 to the left so that is 10^(-3) or E-3.
Then divided 2.4/1.2 or 2 and E-5 by E-3 which is E-2, make exponent positive when go across fraction.
so adding 9 E-3 to 2 E-2.
Adding in scientific notation is useful if they have the same exponent, not otherwise.

To write in scientific notation, follow the form:
where is a number between and , but not itself, and is an integer (positive or negative number)
........in case you have this
....both numerator and denominator divide by -> your answer
